Re: Question about stray voltage.


You're probably talking about stray voltage on strand or verticles. I've used a lot of the stray voltage detectors before and for a while it was a big deal that everyone in the field have one but I've also seen them say there is stray voltage but there wasn't.
It's a scary thing because if you're wrong, you're dead. Had a tech in Michigan that unbonded the strand from the verticle on a pole transfer & either the strand was hot or the verticle but it killed him. He was by himself on a busy intersection laying in the bottom of the bucket all day before somebody called in to say he wasn't moving. 
Better safe than sorry.
