I think you will see non-disclosure in employee situations, almost always non-union employee situations. Often trade scerets or customer lists are also subject to non-disclosure or no-compete clauses.
The exact opposit can occure in contractor situations. Outside the satellite & CATV work there is competitive bidding. While price is not the only way to evaluate a bid....everyone knows who the three closest bidders were.
Government contracts are especially open in this way. For one thing it is public money and those paying the bills have a right to know how the money was spent. ALSO, if someone wants to underbid the successful lowest bidder in the next round that is possible. It also suggests some day someone will pay to fulfill a contract.
