Re: WV Strike Work


not a big union guy myself.  spent the first 12+yrs as a non-union contractor traveling all over the country.  Union has its pros and cons just like anything else.  Some unions ask for way to much when they are negotiating contracts and go on strike. I even get disgusted when this happens.  Other times they just ask for a fair shake and are offered nothing.   We have a no strike clause in our contract so thats not a option plus things would have to be pretty bad before i would even consider doing that.

I still help out our contractors (non-union) when i get a chance.  I have been in their shoes before.  Most of our guys just watch them work, not me.  I am right there next to them digging in the same dirt they are trying to get stuff done.

Most of all of us are trying to earn a paycheck while doing quality work.
