It's a lot worse than most may know...I worked for an outfit this summer who had a number of guys from various countries south of the border. One couldn't read, write or speak English. They got away with taking any short cut available, not having proper tools and safety gear etc. while my partner and I were held to high standards, given the most difficult tasks and expected to equal or exceed their production. We were the "show", they were the "go". It all went very wrong when, to top it all off, we found out that they were kicking the boss back some serious coin!! Took me 6 weeks to figure out why I could never be the good guy. I feel this scenario should never exist in this country...but it does! Hard to document these things and do a job too or I would have brought it all to light with the customer.
