Wow this is really discouraging for me even thinking about becoming a cable contractor in the future. I know it can't be that bad if you find the right company to work for though from what I've heard.  I hope you don't work with them for long unless perhaps you're in a market where everyone has had satellite and all of the jobs are cake, but do those even exist? heh.
