Google planning ultra high-speed broadband network
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Google Inc. said Wednesday on its corporate blog that it plans to develop and build a broadband network in the United States that is more than 100 times faster than any current network. Google said it will begin testing ultra high-speed broadband networks "in a small number of trial locations." The speeds would allow users to download a feature-length movie in less than five minutes, the company said.
