Contract or no contract if the man did the work then he is entitled to his pay. If he left on bad terms he may not be allowed to work for that company again, but if they are treating him like that then it is for the best. Also if they were sticking to the "contract" why did they send him a partial payment. Something here is not clicking, either on the tech side or the company side, maybe both.
