Experience in coax splicing. Must have bucket truck and tools and insurance and be able to pass background check.

Job Description

Outside Plant duties of coax and fiber troubleshooting aerial and underground along with all other potential locations.
Knowledge to perform sweep and balance testing on coax cable plant
Power Supply Troubleshooting/ activation
Coax plant splicing, reconfiguration, activation and ensuring system is properly operating using a signal strength meter.
Node Optimization
Install fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment
Must be able to troubleshoot with OTDR and power meter.
Knowledge of Fiber Optics CWDM and DWDM
Comprehend HFC Design Prints
Fusion splicing, documentation, certification as needed.
Able to read fiber schematics along with HFC map and electronic design.
Complete all associated documentation on a daily basis as needed.
Operate aerial bucket van along with hand tools.
Perform work safely and with high craftsmanship assuring public and work safety at all times.
Required experience and education:

High school diploma or GED
Proficiency using related splicing equipment including fusion splicers, OTDR, fiber identifiers, all related splicing tools, documents and industry safety procedures.
Ability to distinguish between colors.
Able to work in confined spaces and heights of 40 feet.
Exceptional organizational skills, detail oriented.
Minimal supervision.
Preferred education and experience:

SCTE / NCTA or equivalent certifications in Broadband applications.
Familiar with CATV standards, applications, processes and procedures.
OSHA safety standards and requirements for work site applications.
Extensive experience in all aspects of fiber optic construction.
Coax splicing and troubleshooting a plus.
Knowledgeable of bucket van operation, safety procedures and proper traffic safety set up.
Eligibility qualifications:

Pass a criminal background check.
Pass a pre employment drug screening test.
Safe driving record accepted by our insurance company.
Valid driver's license.
Able to lift 80 pounds.
Dependable and accountable.
