Job Description
Global Electric is an Anaheim, CA based Electrical/Low Voltage Contractor and has been in business for 15 years. We specialize in a variety of projects including commercial electrical, low voltage, fiber optics and wireless communications design, construction, and maintenance. Our projects are located throughout Southern California. Our clientele includes City, County, State, and Federal jobs. We have a full-time position available for a well-qualified fiber optic technician who meets the following specified requirements.
FIBER OPTIC TECHNITIAN REQUIREMENTS:
5 years of verifiable field experience
- Ability to read and interpret all fiber optic plans and drawings
- Ability to create as-builts
- Ability to work independently, with little or no supervision.
- Possess excellent time management skills and meet deadlines
- Complete knowledge of set up and operation of applicable equipment such as fusion splicers, OTDRs, power testers, etc.
- Complete knowledge of job site safety requirements and OSHA standards and practices.
- Ability to lift at least 50lbs.
- Computer literacy skills (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, database software etc.).
- Ability to read and write proper
- Valid CA state driver's license and clean DMV record
Responsibilities include and are not limited to the following:
- Layout, preparation of materials list, installation and cleanliness per contract, plans, specifications, code requirements and standards.
- Safely entering manholes on a regular basis
- Building out several types of splice enclosures will skill and precision
- Communicate effectively and professionally with suppliers, field, site and office personnel as required
- Must be presentable for clientele at all times and conduct business in a professional manner
- Be present for and assist with required inspections pertaining to applicable scope of work
- Pick-up and delivery of parts, materials, etc... if and when necessary
- Ensure job site safety per client and OSHA requirements.
- Submit job reports to office daily or weekly
Security clearance is required on some Global Electric job sites. Qualified candidates will be required to submit to a full background screening.
