Utilities One Inc. Began business in 2010 as a small construction company that did TVRO installation, engineering, aerial and underground construction work, primarily in Philadelphia and New Jersey. Based on steady growth and continued reinvestment in our company since 2010 we have grown to a size that allowed us to build/upgrade over 15,000 miles of plant over the past. In addition, Utilities One has recently expanded into Fiber to The Home (“FTTH”) and RUS/ARRA federally funded projects with great success. With our national capacity, large bonding capabilities, experienced management with time tested procedures, and years of experience in telecommunications construction, we are your full-service provider that will complete your project on under budget on time with the quality of service you demand.

Fiber Splicers specialize in splicing and terminating fiber optic cables to expand telecommunications networks into new areas or to replace existing lines.
We are looking to hire a local and experienced crew in splicing for our Florida Market.

Responsibilities
• Maintain a clean, neat, professional appearance.
• Splice fiber optic cables including both loose tube and ribbon cables, and construct proper splice cases and fiber termination panels
• Troubleshoot and perform maintenance to resolve signal problems.
• Operate technical equipment, including but not limited to computer, OTDR, Power Meters, fusion splicing equipment, and understand the functioning thereof
• Lift and manipulate splice enclosures and other plant and equipment
• Installation and dressing of fiber optic cabling
• Reading and interpreting work prints and splice diagrams
• Reading and interpreting existing fiber records, on maps or in the field
• Ability to complete the tasks assigned in a timely manner.
• Keep detailed record of work activity

Qualifications
• Must have demonstrated experienced with fiber cable construction, splicing and repair.
• Proficiency with hand tools, including cable jacket strippers, crimpers and diagnostic equipment is essential.
• Excellent manual dexterity
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds or more.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to pass drug, background & MVR screenings.
