Qualifications
Must have previous five years experience splicing fiber optic cable. Have knowledge of telecommunications network structure. Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Other Requirements
Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs. regularly and up to 100 lbs. as needed with or without assistance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary. Must be able to work in all weather conditions. Must be able to operate a bucket Truck to all Osha safety Standards.
Job Description
Splicing will mostly consist of loose tube. The Backbone will have some Ribbon fiber, you must have the ability to de-rebonize and ribonize fiber, as a ribbon fusion machine is not required.
+ Must be able to read fiber design prints Identifying individual fiber cables and splice locations, to ensure accurate splicing.
+ Able to splice MST's and or other Plug and Play FTTH equipment being used in different markets.
+ Ability to prepare cable and set up of all sizes of enclosures.
+ The proper set up of splice trays
+ Ability to perform mid-sheath, ring cut splicing.
+ Testing will be required, your ability to understand and correctly use an OTDR to perform all test requirements. Bi-directional Testing and the use of an EXFO OTDR will be required.
+Troubleshoot and repair problems utilizing test equipment'
+ Works with Project Managers and/or OSP Engineers to perform splicing as directed;
+ Safely operate and use bucket trucks, responsible for daily Maintenance of your provided truck.
+ Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and design specifications.
+ Must have smartphone or tablet to Complete daily production, as builts maps, using our mobile application "ZappData"
+ Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.
