Job Description

The position of Superintendent within the structure of Pauley Construction is required to manage an individual business unit. A Superintendent’s business unit assignment will be generally defined by one customer, a single contract or project assignment. The customer structure goal of the company is for each Superintendent to be assigned a single customer requiring a single focus. The Superintendent will have full responsibility for managing all project assignments and crew supervision of each business unit. The geographic area or customer assignment will be based on accomplishing the five focus area goals outlined below.                                               

Crew Foremen, Crew Leader, and Operator Foremen selection should be based on accomplishing the goals and objectives as outlined in the job description for these positions. Redundant customer assignments may require the position of Supervisor(s) reporting to a Superintendent. (See job description for Supervisor).

The Area, Project or District Manager will assign all customer, contract, project, or geographic locations to each Superintendent Business Unit.

The main objective of a Superintendent is to provide the leadership, accountability and discipline assuring safe, qualified, and productive crews for all customer and project assignments.  Crew Foreman, Crew Leader, and Operator Foreman selection should also be based on a serious focus regarding safety, experience, quality assurance, and a professional representation of Pauley Construction to each customer and the community. Position duties include: Supervising and managing multiple crews, communicating with customer and city inspectors, coordinate pre-construction meetings, keep safety and production records, do as builds as required. 

The superintendent may manage several supervisors who oversee aspects of a project and must be accountable for all project items. This position must have a good understanding of both underground construction work as well as copper/fiber placement and splicing.

Qualifications:

Must be 21 years old to drive company equipment
Valid medical card is required for this role.
Must be able to effectively communicate with crew.
Be available to work overtime and emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Maintain a positive attitude with team.
Maintain good public relations (interact with the public in a courteous manner)
Must have reliable transportation
Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools
2+ years or more previous industry experience preferred
Must have strong physical endurance for hot weather conditions, repetitive bending, stooping, lifting, transferring equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
Applicants are required to pass all company drug testing, submit to a background check and adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by company as required.
