The Coaxial Cable Splicer/Lineman is a skilled field position in the installation and repair of Coaxial cable, responsible for performing splicing functions, either new to new or new to existing, once the cable has been placed then rearranging the existing cable. This position supports the Splicing team and works with personnel within the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Perform Coaxial cold splicing and activation;
2. Install and test pressurized and non-pressurized enclosures;
3. Install and dress Coaxial cables, both vertically and horizontally;
4. Test and troubleshoot Coaxial cables by utilizing all forms of testing equipment;
5. Forward/reverse sweep and network verification;
6. Maintain Coaxial asset inventory and splicing records;
7. Install and program Nodes(Optimization) and Amplifiers fiber and coaxial;
8. Splice Coaxial line extenders and drops;
9. Lockbox installation and activation;
10. Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience performing copper based cable splicing in a construction, installation, and/or maintenance environment.
• Experience using electronic test equipment.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid CDL (A) license or be able to attain one.
• Will be required to complete OSHA 10-hour course provided by MasTec.
• Ability to read and comprehend schematics, preparation of all job related work reports (i.e.: red-lined cable plans. schematics, throw sheets and test results).
• Ability to access within the same day all test equipment required to perform services.
• Knowledge of cable size, gauge, count, and colors of direction.
• Able to work outdoors in all types of weather.
