Job Description

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a hard-working and reliable HDD Locator to join our team. You will participate in a variety of construction projects and follow construction plans, fill out daily production reports and give out instructions as the Team Lead. Experience is essential, and you will have to be physically fit and a fast learner in any new technologies and policies GAC implements. To be successful in this position, you will work well as part of a team, enjoy working outdoors, and be able to perform strenuous physical tasks.
In addition to the Construction Worker responsibilities the expectations included but not limited to are:

?Operate heavy equipment such as but not limited to Operation of Mini Excavators and Hydro Vacs (In compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.)
?Knowledge with Locating units for HDD installation of underground conduit for utility infrastructure construction
?Daily Calibrate, secure and maintains sonde/beacon on Directional Drill
?Operates line location instruments and leak detection instruments when necessary.
?Additional Training to implement new equipment technologies and safety protocols.
?Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.
?Maintains inventory, equipment, supplies and assigned vehicle
?Oversee that the work area, vehicles and equipment clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, trash.
?Required attendance to all safety meetings
?Proactively communicate with team members of any safety measures.
?Lead daily tailgate meeting and fill out Tailgate Meeting form.
?Complete required paperwork, reporting, bore logs and other documentation as required.
?oversee and directly coordinate the work of a crew of 4-6 employees.
?Precise and safe drill operation; able to adapt tooling to ground conditions.
?Wear required PPE per osha and company standards
?Oversee jobsite safety set up is in place
?Perform any lane closure per DOT requirements
?Perform safe excavating procedures
?Locate and assist pot holing the utilities in bore path to avoid blind drilling at all cost.
?Determine bore path per the prints.
?Verify depths and alignments of boring positions.
?Understand prints and product placement per specs.
?Follows specifications for the job and company policies
?Complies with safety procedures while driving and at job site
?Read, understand and apply GAC Safety manual procedures
?Strive for optimal production while working safely and performing quality work.
?Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
?Minimum of 3 years of experience in horizontal directional drilling/locating.
?Knowledge of operation and maintenance of electronic locating equipment for Directional Drill
?Ability to work long hours and move/lift at least 50 lbs. on a consistent basis.
?Ability to research land and plat information and communicate design prints
?Effective listening, interacting and writing skills
?Ability to perform and/or instruct entry level skills and practices
?Compliance with OSHA and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations.
?Valid Class A Commercial Driver License. Or willingness to pursue one.
?Valid DOT Medical Certification.
?Pass pre-employment and other drug screening requirements.
?Pass i-9 employment verification form
?Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 80 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
?Willing to travel.
?Must be willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
?Experienced safely working around all underground utilities.
?Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
HS Diploma or higher.
Experience in utility infrastructure construction.
Valid Class A Commercial Driver License.
Experience Operating a Mini Excavator.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Licenses and Certifications for CPR, OSHA, Utility Infrastructure, etc.
Bilingual in Spanish and English.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
Will not train applicant to learn how to locate.
