Field Walkout Engineer

ITC Service Group (“ITC”), is seeking a mid - entry level Field Walkout Engineer in South San Francisco, CA . The Field Walkout Engineer will perform aerial and underground field engineering to include, but not limited to stationing, make-ready engineering, fiber layout and terminal placement, strand mapping, building service location, etc and be responsible for depicting outside plant (OSP) aerial layouts utilizing existing project tools and procedures. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the telecommunications construction industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Perform multiple field walk-out assignments on a daily basis over varying terrain and in weather conditions as encountered
Hand Draft (sketch) field routing plan for the location. Drawings to include existing routing (duct, vaults, pole line and applicable electronics) to point of service
Create a scope of work for the location fully describing all necessary work tasks required to provide CATV services to the point of service
Utility walkout or construction experience a plus
Ensure all documents are legibly prepared and meet current design and routing specifications
Conduct on-site meetings to share construction designs and schedules with end users
Interface with municipalities to secure permits and access as required
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
All candidates are subject to a mandatory pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical exam, and must possess and hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Required Experience
Entry - mid level candidates with experience in industry preferred
Possess a basic knowledge of building construction methods and codes.
Understanding of FTTH Fiber design using Factory Spliced Pre-connectorized Cable and Terminals.
Understanding of splitter cabinets and ability to propose and place new pad mounted equipment.
Solid background in aerial line engineering / construction.
Knowledge of GO 95, Rules for Overhead Electric Line Construction, specifically for California.
Good understanding of power and able to read power maps.
