Job Description
The Field Walkout Technician is responsible for performing walkout surveys of new and existing cable plant to provide new service to end user. Experience with CATV asbuilt and new build walkout is required along with basic knowledge of CATV construction practices. Duties include following guidelines to provide detailed route from existing plant to customer demark noting all construction types required along proposed route.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
• 2+ years of cable mapping experience a must.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the fielding process with hands on experience in CATV asbuilt and new build walkouts is required.
• Knowledge of cable design and basic construction practices of cable systems.
• Ability to read and understand maps.
• Strong analytical, observational, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn new software and technologies.
• Perform field walkout assignments on a daily basis over varying terrain and in all weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word & Outlook a must.
• Must be highly responsible and self-motivated.
Additional Information:
• This is a full-time, production-based, position.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Company vehicle and necessary tools will be provided.
• Must have flexibility and willingness to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
