Copper Splice Technician – Utility Construction – Nation Wide, Must Be Able To Travel $18.00 to $25.00 Per Hour DOE? + Travel Per Diem At $75.00 Per Day For Out Of Town Work
Position Details:
Specialized Communication Services, LLC. Has multiple ongoing telecommunication construction projects taking place in multiple states. These projects require the installation of telecommunication conduit, cable, fiber & equipment. We are currently looking for a Copper Wire Splicer to join our team. This position requires travel & lodging in and between multiple states.
Duties, Skills & Responsibilities:
• ?Must be dependable & reliable, show up on time when scheduled
• Must have clean appearance & good attitude towards crew & customers
• Must be able to review, understand & comply with plans & permits
• Must be able to follow direction from superintendent & management
• Must be able to meet scheduling needs & document added / extra work
• Must be able to fill out time sheets and production reports daily
• Must use & maintain safety / personal protective equipment
• Place & Test Pressurized & Non-Pressurized Closures
• Pair Identification, Count Rearrangement, Tagging, Span Conditioning
• Test Pair For AC, DC, DC Loop & Insulation Resistance
• Read, Understand & Be Able To Correct Info On Prints & Throw Sheets
• Must Be Familiar With The Following Tools: butt set, and tone generator, 24’ or greater extension ladder,710 cutter presser, 25, and 5 pair, Tie wrap cinch tool, utility hole set up, guard, ring, blower, pump, test equipment, 965DSP, HST-3000, or equivalent, throwmaster 107, and/or 107A, explosive gas tester, and generator
Physical Requirements & Working Environment:
• Work 8 to 12 hours per day 5 to 6 days per week
• Certified to work in confined spaces
• Work overtime as needed during busy season
• Understand heat illness, take lunch & adequate water breaks
• Work in various outside temperatures both hot & cold
• Work in direct sunlight for extended periods of time
• Lift and carry 50 to 60 lbs.
• Bend, stoop, stand and twist continuously throughout the day
Eligibility Requirements:
• ?Possess valid driver’s license & clean MVR
• 3 years of previous utility splicing experience
• Travel & stay in various Cities & States
• Pass a drug test
