Job Description

This position will be responsible to develop and drive major initiatives in logistics efficiency and inventory management, as well as to develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Oversee and manage logistics operations including distribution systems and procedures to ensure efficient and economical delivery of the organization’s products

Establish annual goals and objectives in coordination with corporate objectives, and manage performance to ensure attainment

Develop procurement strategies that will drive productivity and service goals and oversee execution goals and strategies

Direct and guide department to ensure the Logistics Team supports and partners with operations, business development, and warehouse staff to achieve mutual business goals

Collaborate with finance to develop and oversee the logistics operations budget and all related fiscal forecasting and planning activities

Review and evaluate current business practices and identify areas of opportunity with a focus on total cost reduction and supply optimization

Oversee the development and cultivation of positive business relationships with the company’s logistics customers and vendors

Communicate logistics strategy effectively to all departments to achieve timelines

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.


Supervisory Duties:


This position carries out supervisory duties in accordance with the Company’s objectives, policies, and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to: planning, assigning, and directing work, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing employee concerns, and partnering with HR to resolve escalated employee matters.

Experience with purchasing, expediting, quality improvement initiatives, and manufacturing safety practices

Advanced: Database, Enterprise Resource Planning, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing, Intermediate: Contact Management, Presentation/PowerPoint

High financial and business acumen

Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgement, make effective decisions, and solve complex problems

Negotiation and conflict management skills

Strong customer orientation

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing, must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements

May be required to work long and unpredictable hours

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment

Travel up to 50% of the time, including short notice travel, which may include local site travel or national travel depending on business needs

Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision





EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Four year college degree, or 10 -12 years equivalent management experience resulting in broad knowledge of a field related to the job, such as supply chain management, logistics management, etc.


Master’s Degree is preferred, but not required. Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean certification is a plus.
