Qualifications
• Strong problem solving skills
• Dependable and responsible
• Pass a background screen and drug screening
• Must have a valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
• Proof of legal ability to work in the US
Other Requirements
• 1 – 3 years cable splicing field related work experience
• All necessary equipment to perform cable splicing. (i.e. bucket truck, fusion splicer, PON meter, OTDR, ladders, etc.)
• Previous experience with fiber, copper and coax installation
Job Description
Fiber optic cable splicer
Perform all aspects required for splicing fiber optic cable.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
• Use bucket trucks, along with all associated splicing tools
• Test, troubleshoot and repair using applicable test equipment
• Transport associated tools, equipment and/or materials in a safe manner
• Complete a daily inspection on all vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in working condition
• Identify utilities in the construction area
• Accurately complete all required company documentation for each assignment according to established company standards and procedures (i.e. time sheet, vehicle log, expense report)
• Adhere to all established company safety policies and perform work in a safe manner
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned in order to help team complete a project
Additional Skills and Abilities
• Ability to read and interpret engineering/construction prints, plans and specifications
• Possess general knowledge of construction practices
• Perform fiber cable maintenance
• Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels
• Must have attention to detail and be thorough in completing work tasks
• Ability to work efficiently, independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Safely climb poles or heights up to 30’
• Ability to move materials/equipment weighing up to 80 pounds
• Able to work 10+ hours in a day when necessary
• Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions
