Field Engineer

ITC Service Group (“ITC”), is seeking an entry level Field Engineers in Santa Clara, CA. The Field Engineer will perform aerial and underground field engineering to include, but not limited to stationing, make-ready engineering, fiber layout and terminal placement, strand mapping, building service location, etc and be responsible for depicting outside plant (OSP) aerial layouts utilizing existing project tools and procedures. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the telecommunications construction industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

Perform analysis of pole attachments utilizing standard industry software such as EasyLoad or O Calc Pro.

Maintain continual status of assigned work through tracking tools assigned by the Project or self-developed.

Participate in and foster a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.

Coordinate as necessary with engineering management, and functional groups to ensure understanding of technical, quality, and cost expectations of the specific design packages.

Required Experience

Understanding of FTTH Fiber design using Factory Spliced Pre-connectorized Cable and Terminals.

Understanding of splitter cabinets and ability to propose and place new pad mounted equipment.

Solid background in aerial line engineering / construction.

Knowledge of GO 95, Rules for Overhead Electric Line Construction, specifically for California.

Good understanding of power and able to read power maps.

Aerial – Strand map all poles to include some of listed information bellow:

HOA, Class, Size, Make Ready, Address, Span Distance, Span Direction

Underground – Station all existing facilities and propose best bore and trench paths to service all homes based on cost efficiency and constructability
