Job Description

The Installation / Service Technician is a detail-oriented and customer-focused repair technician who is responsible for installing, making service calls, upgrading, maintaining, and repairing residential CATV Systems, DTV Systems, DISH Network Systems, Internet (Docsis and Ethernet), and voice services in the MDU environment.


Job Duties

• Installations, upgrades & repair work orders on satellite, internet, & voice systems

• Services, troubleshoots, and repairs inter net, satellite, and voice systems.

• Handles all customer questions/concerns and helps develop solutions to issues.

• Ensures all repair work is done according to quality standards.

• Follows all company policies and procedures, and adheres to codes, regulations, and standards.

• Meets deadlines, keeps schedules, and performs to target levels in a high production environment.

• Enters time worked correctly on his/her time sheet.

• Keeps track of receiver inventory, documenting each receiver, and makes sure the receiver is placed on the correct account type and not charged back once it is assigned.

• Calls customers for appointments within 24 hours of receiving the tickets, noting on the work orders the actions taken (e.g. left VM, appointment dates and times, etc.). Place another call approx. 1 hour before arrival to job site.

• Closes work order by the end of each business day

• Provides excellent customer service to insure no more than 1 customer complaint each quarter.

• Performs other duties as required and assigned by management.


Job Requirements and Qualifications

Education and Certifications/Licenses:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• DirecTv SBCA certification preferred.


Experience:

• 2 years of relevant experience required to include experience with CATV Systems, DirecTV Systems (including residential single family, MFH2 MDU, 101 stacked), DISH Network Qam Systems, Docsis Systems, and Ethernet Systems.


Knowledge (e.g. skills; abilities; familiarity w/tools, languages, software programs):

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Must be technical and detail oriented and customer focused.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet goals.


Other (e.g. travel, physical requirements, evening/weekend hours, on-call):

• Possibility to be on-call 24/7 during a standard on-call rotation. When on-call must respond within 60 minutes of being called.

• Available to some work weekends and evening hours.

• Available to perform some travel within the state (when needed)

• Must be comfortable with heights and exposure to outside weather conditions, and able to lift 50lbs.
