Job Description

Duties and responsibilities: Splice and test individual fibers and properly dress and secure fibers within fiber optic enclosures. Proficiently prepare and splice all sizes of fiber sheaths in an aerial as well as underground environment. Properly use fusion splicers, OTDRs, optical power meters and all tools necessary for preparing and splicing fiber. Read and interpret fiber matrices.

As far as our materials we use large and small keptel splice cases for aerial splicing with ADC 24 fiber trays. We use Corning and Coyote 6 /12 port terminals for aerial work. We use coyote dome closures with 36 fiber trays for splicing at our splitter cabinets. Tii splitter cabinets are the main ones being installed at this point aand most cabinets are being installed on handholes with the occasional pole mounts. Construction is supposed to leave 10’ of slack for the installation of the aerial fiber terminals, approximately 100ft slack loops for the aerial splice case locations, and 12-15ft of fiber to be broke out, prepped, and trayed in our pedestals.
