Underground Construction Manager | Horizontal Directional Drill Crew Supervisor
We are currently seeking an experienced Underground Construction Manager/HDD Crew Supervisor to oversee multiple in-house drilling crews and assist with managing our subcontractor workforce for the greater Charlotte, NC area. Responsibilities:
Plan and monitor drilling activities, ensuring safety and completion of underground routes correctly and on time.
Conduct morning safety meetings and end-of-day cleanups.
Verify location of existing utilities and adjust route as necessary based on job specifications and easement requirements.
Provide directions to crew operators and HDD Drillers to achieve production goals.
Ensure safety of the public and other utilities underground facilities.
Read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project.
Ensure that drill crews have materials, permits, and proper mark outs to maintain efficient production.
Monitor proper maintenance of all equipment, such as greasing, oiling, and making minor repairs.
Manage labor crew to perform duties such as pot holing, locating, and restoration.
Oversee laborers and/or crew members work and monitor and log time usage.
Qualifications:
Experience leading crews and giving proper direction.
Underground experience managing multiple teams.
Self-motivated with unquestionable integrity and ethics.
Ability to read, write, and speak English to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner.
The ability to use a computer and navigate the required software.
Horizontal Drill experience is a plus.
Practical working experience with underground construction and equipment for both conduit and fiber installation is a plus.
