As a contractor your pay will be based on production of work completed each week. Rate card will be provided upon request. In-house splicers will be paid based on experience and duties assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of cable splicing experience. Must have a valid driver's license and tools (tool assistance available). Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task. Install all passive and active devices (amplifiers, taps, splits). Test RF lines for balanced signal between points-continuity and fault. Ability to safely utilize bucket trucks and ladders. Work schedule Midnight - 10AM Monday through Friday.
Other Requirements
Coring tools 500, 625 and 750 cable. Viavi meters which includes sweeps and Docsis reading. OSP lineman tools. Tool loan or purchase assistance will be made available for the right candidates.
Job Description
•Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task
•Repair or splice in new line as needed to complete the testing and certification of the project
•Place and install required coax cable when necessary to compete assignment(s)
•Install all passive and active devices (amplifiers, taps, splits), pedestals, and vaults and coax splice cases required to house CATV equipment per customer requirements
•Test RF lines for balanced signal between points-continuity and fault
•Read and understand site plans, maps, diagrams, designs, and prints needed to support project(s)
•Splice activate underground and aerial lines
•Splice in node splits to reduce capacity
•Utilize RF Meters and TDR accurately
•Ability to safely utilize bucket trucks or climb ladders
•Close a project by completing production sheets, verifying proper levels after activation, and adjust and troubleshoot as necessary
•Ensure that all work considers the safety of the customer and public and compliance with all governmental orders,
•Ensure proper safety techniques and incident reporting procedures are followed
•Other duties as required
