Job Description
Overview:
CATV - Underground -Drilling experience a plus
Performs duties related to all phases of underground construction of telecommunications outside plant to ensure scope of work performed is within standards required by customer.
Performs all phases of underground construction include but are not limited to:
Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment
•Hand dig using shovel, mechanical tools
•Install and maintenance of underground telecommunications cabling
•Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
•Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery
Safely operates drill equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following:
Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer?Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the jobsite
?Will develop and maintain a bore schedule
?Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
?Load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck
?Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis –JSA prior to starting construction
?Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
?May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
?Ability to follow instructions
Safely operates drill equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following:
Directional Drill, Backhoe / Excavator, Skid Steer, Tractor Trailer (Moving Equipment / Haul Water), Vacuum Truck/Trailer
?Restores and/or landscapes disturbed areas of the jobsite
?Will develop and maintain a bore schedule
?Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up
?Load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck
?Will be involved in new site Job Safety Analysis –JSA prior to starting construction
?Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones and safety barriers and at times flagging traffic
?May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or be on-call as work is needed to ensure work is completed
?Ability to follow instructions
Must have a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
?Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities
?Must have good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
?Must be very safety conscientious
