Job Description
Job Purpose The Aerial Technician II is responsible for performing diversified work related to the construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for the distribution of electricity. This position supports the Line team and works with other personnel from the department.
Essential Functions
- Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock.
- Provide the needed services for the construction, operation, and maintenance of the customer’s electrical distribution system.
- Do pole transfers/splicing, pole removal, and set and install new cables.
- Provide technical skills needed for the operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services for the consumer, completing jobs with quality and timeliness.
- Provide connecting and disconnecting, installing and removal, moving and transferring of various electrical devices on customer’s facilities, i.e. transformers, transformer banks, regulators, switches, switching devices, capacitor banks, etc.
- Keep abreast of all changes affecting any records, reports, and related information affecting this position.
- Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized electrical distribution lines, as needed.
- Take responsibility for all personal actions and any personnel, vehicles, or equipment in their care, custody, or control and report any accidents/incidents immediately to supervisors, cooperate and assist in the investigations of the same.
- Set a good example for less experienced employees by always following and teaching safe practices. - Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.
